The UMC line dates back to the mid-1800s with the Union Metallic Cartridge company. They merged with Remington in 1912, to become what was then called Remington UMC. Eventually, the UMC part was dropped from the company name. But Remington started using the initials to refer to their value line of target and range ammo, which is now one of the most popular brands in the country. If you shoot a lot of 40 caliber, you'll really appreciate the value of the mega pack. The box contains a stack of five 50 round trays with a cardboard pull tab for easy access. The reloadable brass case features non-corrosive primer with a 180 grain flat point lead core bullet covered in a copper jacket. Remington calls this jacket a Metal Case but it's the same as a Full Metal Jacket you're used to shooting. We fired the 250 round box using six different pistols. We didn't have a single malfunction and each gun fed and ejected the UMC cartridges with no problems. Like most UMC ammo, the recoil was moderate and typical for a practice load. After testing the ammo for function, we set up the sandbags and tried out the UMC load from the bench at 15 yards. The SIG-P226 was able to put the 10 rounds in a group just a little high of point of aim. Remington's UMC line is always a dependable choice for any range application and these 250 round mega packs are an incredible value for American made brass case loads.
