The waterproof, durable ABS plastic case can hold up to 40 Stormproof Matches (alternate the match tips with some facing up and some facing down) for longer trips for when you need the added security to build a fire. Being able to reliably make a fire is vital for cooking, generating warmth, and in survival situations, making signal fires. UCO Stormproof Matches are perfect for camping, emergency kits, and should be part of every 10 Essentials check list. If a match becomes wet, just wipe dry before use. If a striker becomes wet, the striker will not work, but needs to dry first so that the surface is once again firm, so use a spare striker (2 spares included) until then. You will not find a better match anywhere! I believe these matches are still made in India. This is one of a series of matches manufactured in that country. This one has a burn rate of 15 seconds. There is an alternative 25 second match but you won’t find it, it’s difficult to find and very expensive.

When you receive the matches they are dry, tightly packed and well preserved. Boxed matches always end up getting crushed somewhere along the logistics line. These always come uncrushed is there neatly packed in a water tight durable plastic container.

These are the best stormproof matches out there. There are different versions made by UCO that do burn longer, but UCO stormproof matches are the only choice in my opinion. The case is solid and water proof, and it comes with extra strikers.
