Fits perfectly, I should've read better, I thought I was getting a leather holster, but this may work ok.

Got my holster for an original S&W model 60 w/ hammer, fits like a glove. Those that had an issue with it being too tight must never have had a Fobus, it's a fabulous retaining "fit hitting the shan" holster that requires an aggressive draw, that's what these Fobus holsters are all about.

*Great retention
*Has rubber insert where paddle meets the skin - very comfortable even sitting.
*Easy on, easy off, but stays in place when worn / drawn even with sweat pants
*Distributes the weight of the mdl 60 well, barely know it's there
*Ride height is actually pretty good (top of waistband is about halfway through cyl. release)
*Cover trigger completely, almost covers entire guard
*Shape of trigger guard gives you great feel at addressing the gun during grip
*No issues while using a beefy Pachmayr rubber grip

For a more concealed carry, there are better choices, but for what this holster is designed for....it's 5 stars. Its does bulge out using a tee shirt, golf shirt, etc, but nice for putting on quickly and being concealed with a jacket / overcoat / garment. Large comfortable rubber insert against skin forms nicely to the hip, without any things poking you. The cant is about right that a 3:00 through 4:30 carry is not an issue.

Once "clicked in" your pistol stays put. Period. It isn't coming out, until you NEED it to come out. Every Fobus paddle is like this, and is a "go to" for this type of carry. It's not a range holster, nor is this a range gun - you do need an aggressive draw. It is rather exceptional for what it is intended to do.

If you do wear a tee or other shirt over it, it tends to snag the bottom. Shirt tucked in or behind the grip with an over garment.....well then it's hard to beat a Fobus paddle, especially for how reasonably priced they are no matter where you get 'em. They are like the "Glock" of paddle holsters, they work without gimmicks. I've never been let down by one of these over the dozen or so pistols I have one for.

There may be a little issue if you have CT laser, though i'm only looking at pictures of one installed vs. where my pistol is seated - I do not have a CT laser on mine, again just using pictures and comparing where points of reference (cylinder, trigger, trigger guard)
meet vs the edge of the holster.

There are no exposed metal riveting or other metal prongs that either mar / scratch the gun, or poke you in the side, i don't know if that was an issue on earlier models / versions, it isn't with this one.

It is extremely difficult to find just the right holster, whether OWB or IWB this is an OWB holster that takes seconds to put on / take off and will not let you down, and worth having on hand.

I am sure there are other holsters out there that are better, however for the price these holsters can't be beat. I don't usually post reviews but I have to reply to some of the negative reviews on this holster. I already own a Fobus for a M&P 380 Bodyguard. It is such a good holster and comfortable to wear all day every day that I was looking to get one for my Smith and Wesson J frame Airweight. After reading all the negative reviews about how the holster held the gun so securely that it was almost impossible to draw I almost did not buy one. Am I glad I did not listen to all the naysayers. I will admit that the first time I stuck my pistol into the holster it would not come out very easy. I thought to myself that I had messed up not paying attention to the reviews. After a few draws it seemed to get better. So I thought why not wax it with a little spray on boat wax. Now it draws perfectly. I look forward to using it for a long time. Final word for me is the Fobus holsters are affordable, extremely comfortable, and highly concealable. A follow up. I have been using this holster now for several months and could not be happier. I do not know why people say it fits too tight. I am mining and hiking around southern Arizona and this holster holds my S&W 2" J frame high and out of the way. Yet if needed (Snake or to scare a coyote away that thought he would snack on my dog) it is there and easy to get out. I do not worry about dropping it while mining or climbing rock walls. Very concealable under just a light shirt. People that I talk to do not even know I am carrying. Again very highly recommended.

Purchased for wife's J frame Smith and Wesson model 442. That is the hammer-less 2" barrel Airweight model. They also make a model 642 which is the same gun with a different finish.

I am pointing out the specific model numbers because Fobus makes a holster model "2 JSW" that I think would be a better fit for the Airweights. The S&W 442 handgun still fits in the Fobus J357 but there is a little room around the bottom of the barrel that I do not think would be there on Fobus 2 JSW holster. As said the holster fits and the extra room around the barrel is cosmetic so we will keep. I am just advising anyone who is looking for a holster for the Airweight may want to look at the alternative model number.

That said, now the review. Good retention but as mentioned by other reviewers it is very difficult at first and will you may question your purchase. Do not give up on the holster because it simply needs to be broken in. Look on YouTube for "breaking in a Fobus holster" and you should find some helpful videos. Besides a break in period it is basically about the draw. Do not be timid when you pull the gun. Pull it aggressively.

I am a big fan of the Fobus line. I have a Fobus holster for a S&W 380 Bodyguard that is my every day carry. I love that holster which is the reason I purchased one for wife's 38. I think those bad ass Israeli's know a thing or two about weapons and accessories. I would have given this 5 stars except for the fact that there may have been another model that was an absolutely perfect fit.
