From the manufacturer
StrikeFire II Red Dot (SF-RG-501) & Hat
When situations demand split-second target acquisition and maximum field of view, mount up the StrikeFire II and shoot—both eyes open. Feature-rich, versatile and reliable, the StrikeFire II is a great choice for shooters who want a quality red dot sight. Features sleek rear-facing controls for power on/off and easy adjustment of ten dot intensity levels—lowest two settings are night-vision compatible. Automatically returns to the last dot intensity used when powered up. The 30mm aluminum alloy chassis provides extra-high recoil rating and is waterproof and fogproof. Strike fast!
The lower 1/3 co-witness cantilever mount model is ideal for rifle platforms, positioning the optic bore center 40 mm above the base surface.
Red/Green Dot Reticle
The 4 MOA Red/Green Dot is ideal for situations that demand split-second target acquisition. Choose among ten variable illumination settings—the lowest two settings are night-vision compatible.
The key thing to remember when shooting with the StrikeFire II red dot is to keep both your eyes open! Shooting with both eyes open allows you to take full advantage of your peripheral vision to get on target very quickly. Eye placement is not critical. As long as you can see the dot, you’ll hit your target!
Windage and Elevation Adjustments
The StrikeFire II red dot incorporates elevation and windage dials with audible clicks. Each small click will move the point-of-impact 1/2 Minute of Angle (MOA). 1/2 MOA will correspond to 1/2 inch at 100 yards, 1/4 inch at 50 yards, 1/8 inch at 25 yards, etc.
Adjust the elevation and windage settings:
1. Remove the dial covers.
2. Use the raised bar on the dial cover, a coin or screw driver to make the adjustments.
3. Turn the adjustment dial in the appropriate direction as indicated by the arrow on the dial. Move the dial in the direction you wish the bullet’s point-of-impact to change.
Mounting the StrikeFire II
To get the best results from your StrikeFire II red dot, proper mounting is essential and, although not difficult, the correct steps must be followed. Your firearm will need to be equipped with a Picatinny or Weaver style rail/base.
To attach the included cantilever ring mount:
1. Attach the lower part of the cantilever ring mount to the rail/base and make sure this is solidly seated in the base groove. To prevent recoil injury, position the ring so that you have at least four inches of eye relief.
2. Be sure the base clamp is hooked around the outside of the rail/base. Press downward and forward toward the muzzle. Then, firmly tighten the base clamp hex nut.
3. Place the StrikeFire II on the lower part of the cantilever ring mount with the adjustment control buttons facing the shooter. Tighten ring cap screws evenly until all are snug—use caution so as not to over-tighten. Once the screws are tightened, the StrikeFire II should not move on the rail/base.
Product Description
If you want a high-quality red dot sight, the StrikeFire II is a great choice. The sleek, rear-facing controls allow for easy adjustment of its ten dot intensity levels. It features a 30mm aluminum alloy chassis, extra-high recoil rating, and is waterproof and fogproof for ultimate reliability.

The optic came in a box with all the necessary hardware for mounting (it came with a cantilever mount for lower 1/3 co-witness), a torx key for the mount screws, obligatory paperwork, an off-brand battery, and the hat.
After mounting it to my rifle, I headed to the range for zero. I previously boresighted it manually in my backyard by removing the bcg and looking through the barrel at a target and roughly adjusting the optic to get it on paper. At the range, it took approximately 20 minutes total to have it set for a 50/200 zero, firing ~3/4" groups at 50 yards. MANY MANY rounds later, the zero has not shifted, and I haven't removed the turret caps since that first day.
One of my favorite things about this optic is that it comes ready to rock right out of the box. The optic has everything you need to stick it to your blaster, the brightness settings range from "NVG dim" to "desert-at-midday bright", and the reticle switches between green and red, which is a nice touch. The flip caps are easy to open, and close with one finger. Every screw cap (battery compartment, windage/elevation knobs) has a rubber gasket to keep it waterproof and it is nitrogen purged to keep it fog proof. I have used and abused the optic and it has withstood everything from snow/rain to heat/humidity and drops that would make you cringe.
The logos are either laser-etched or engraved onto the optic, either way, they are bright silver. The logos on the mounts seem to have been grayed over, but a black marker to the white logos on the front and sides of the optic took care of that.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this optic for those who are building their rifles around the 0-200 range application. I have used it for farther distances, but I feel as though red dots really shine inside 300.
PROS:
-VERY solid once mounted
-Holds zero well
-Flip caps are easier to operate than the original Strikefire
-Cantilever mount makes use of a magnifier possible
-Water/fog proof
-Red/green dots with many brightness settings
CONS:
-Low-ish battery life
-4 MOA dot is a bit large for distance shots

First off it comes in a very well made box, cardboard yet well protected durable, it fits without being too much for just a box. This leads me to respect the company. Very well made, not overemphasizing the box. I have had high value knives sent in thin cardboard original boxes. I have had knives with great value come in over packaged. Maybe you have experience this? The box comes inside of box inside of that there is a tin box you open it up and there's a pouch you unzip the pouch and inside is the knife, a sticker, a microfiber, a patch, a tiny advertisement, cool. Yet, somehow I feel the company could have put a few bucks off the value of the knife instead of bunch of stuff I don't need. I do appreciate a simple yet very well made approach.
I still have this original box and the Vortex 3x magnifying scope. I bought is along with the Vortex Optics VMX-3T Magnifier w/ Flip Mount. Both came with pretty dope hat.
I do have much experience, around 15yrs or tools and EDC type of stuff. I know a thing or two about quality, tolerances, finishes, fits, weights, and so on. I know a great deal when I see one.
This was a great deal, I think I got both for about $379, this one was $179 I believe. Back to my experience, I have an EDC rotation. I have many tools, knives, multi-tools, flashlights, and so on. I like to pick maybe 5-10 and have them ready to grab as the week goes by. Then at end of week I go into my collection and switch them out keep a couple, depends. I have many multi-tools, I do like the quality. So basically what I am saying is I have much experience with the tolerances and qualities of these types of products.
This red/green dot is awesome. First off it has that cool factor because it looks awesome. The fact that you can switch between green and red dot is great, which can be used for different applications. The buttons function and have a positive feedback. Click, click.
I feel like I have not changed the battery. It has not been used a whole lot. Dozens of hours over the course of 4.5 years.
This red dot is mounted on a Savage Recon msr-15 AR-15. Works just how you would hope on that setup. When I don't want magnification, I flip the VMX-3T. It's convenient and it's very well constructed.
It is easy to calibrate and when being used stays in calibration. Withstands the recoil no problem. Comes with the caps to cover the lens, which I find very necessary. Great to use, it is quick.
Basically if you need a very good optic Red Dot for your pick any railed rifle, look no further. For the price I doubt you will find better craftsmanship. It has a nice weight to it, can tell it's well made.
Obviously if you are looking at this then you are interested in a scope setup for your rifle. You know you should do your homework, read some articles, look at the size weight materials used and so forth. This is one to get for sure. If you're looking at it don't hesitate, this is one awesome scope. There are cheaper options, I doubt they're built as good as these. There are more expensive options, I doubt I would need it or ever use what I'm paying extra for. Looks great on the setup. Go grab this and if you need a magnifying, the VMX-3T. The two work perfectly together. The magnified is very cool to flip on and off.
I hope this can give some insight that maybe has not already.
