About this item
- Constant Quality of Improvement: Recently we applied C.Q.I. to the classic Dragonfly creating a new Dragonfly 2. The Dragonfly was one of Spyderco's original lightweight knives and helped to introduce the use of FRN Handles.
- High Performance: The Dragonfly's success is largely due to its mid-size blade and Ergonomic handle that features a front-finger choil and spine cusp.
- Ergonomic: Designed as a carry: friendly folder, it comes with a left/right-hand tip-up wire clip, patented Bi-Directional Texturing on the handle, spine and choil jimping and screw-together handle construction.
- Superior Quality: The VG-10 blade has a high-performance flat-grind and is available with a PlainEdge configuration.
- Pocket-Friendly: The Dragonfly 2 Lightweight focuses around features which make it Ergonomically comfortable including positioning the Spyderco Round Hole in precise relation to the blade's pivot for the smoothest blade opening.

One thing I really appreciate is the quality of the design and construction. The handle texture strikes a good balance: tactile enough to give me a secure grip but not so rough that it's uncomfortable to use, even for an extended period of time. The bright, almost neon orange color looks cool and makes it easy to spot if I ever drop or misplace it.
Unfolding the knife is smooth and effortless with the signature Spyderco thumb hole, and the lockup is solid without any blade play. I've used it for everything from opening boxes to cutting through some tougher materials, and it's performed flawlessly every time. It's definitely not the blade I'd choose for batoning through firewood, but that's just not the sort of task for which it's designed.
It's a bit pricey, but Spyderco is known for making quality blades and I certainly feel like I got what I paid for. I could see the small size being a downside for folks with hands on the larger end of the spectrum. Mine are mid-sized, so that's not an issue for me, but others might want to carry something larger (assuming it's legal to do so in their area).
Overall, I don't think I could be much happier with my purchase. The Dragonfly 2 is about as close to a perfect EDC knife as I can imagine. Whether you're a knife enthusiast or just need a reliable tool for everyday use, I highly recommend giving this little guy a try!

1. DRAGON FLY 2: w/ VG-10 Steel, Plain or Serrated edge: This knife is good for everyone as the steel holds and edge well, and resharpens easily enough, it is also relatively corrosions resistant.
2. DRAGON FLY 2: w/ ZDP 189 Steel, Plain edge: FIRST, THIS IS AN EXCELLENT KNIFE: I have not seen it offered in a Serrated edge but they my offer it I am not sure: This knife is ONLY GOOD FOR THOSE WHO ARE EXPERTS AT SHARPENING KNIVES. This steel is extremely hard and holds and edge exceptionally well. The disadvantage is that it takes someone who is a very skilled sharpener to resharpen and work with this steel. It is 3% carbon so it is susceptible to corrosion if not cared for properly.
3. DRAGON FLY 2: w/ H1 Steel, Plain or Serrated edge: This knife is good for everyone. This steel is advertised as RUST PROOF. This steel is relatively hard and holds an edge well, and resharpens easily enough.
4. DRAGON FLY 2: w/ Aogami Blue Super Steel (Spyderco does Sprint Runs with this metal), Plain or Serrated edge: This knife is ONLY GOOD FOR THOSE WHO ARE EXPERTS AT SHARPENING KNIVES. This steel is extremely hard and holds and edge exceptionally well. The disadvantage is that it takes someone who is a very skilled sharpener to resharpen and work with this steel. It is a high carbon steel so it is susceptible to corrosion if not cared for properly. However. Syperco counters this by sandwiching the Aogami Blue Super Steel between a layer of 420J Steel on each side. This protects the Aogami steel from chipping, breaking, and corrosion. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHOICES. IT DOES TAKE SOME EFFORT TO SHARPEN CORRECTLY AS NOTED ABOVE, BUT THE RESULTS ARE WORTH THE EFFORT!
NOW, WRITTEN BELOW ARE MY GENERAL COMMENTS ABOUT THE KNIFE IN GENERAL. THE ABOVE FACTS ARE SPECIFIC TO THE DIFFERENT CONFIGURATIONS OF STEELS AND BLADE TYEPES OFFERED.
I am a huge fan of the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 in any of its configurations. This is a smaller knife that does not know it is a smaller knife. Its ergonomics allow it to be used as a larger knife. Its small size allow it to be used as an excellent ED (Every Day Carry). You can take this knife out in public, and because of its smaller size, most people do not generally look at you like you are evil or at looking to do harm to others. This knife has a generous blade and its light weight of 1.1 oz. makes it a joy to carry as you can easily forget that it is even in your pocket. The pocket clip allows for easy deployment and can be switched for left or right carry or you can simply take the clip off and carry it in a pocket. This knife can even be used on a keychain or a neckless due to its light weight. I own many expensive knives, but this relatively inexpensive knife has become on elf my favorite knives. NO MATTER WHICH STEEL YOU CHOSE, THIS KNIVE IS CAPABLE OF EDGES FOR HAIR WHITTLING LEVELS OF SHARPNESS!!!
THIS IS AN EXCELLENT KNIFE NO MATTER WHICH STEEL OF BLAKE CONFIGURATION YOU CHOSE. IT IS HARD TO GO WRONG WITH THE PURCHASE OF THIS KNIFE!!!

Pro:
-Haptik sehr angenehm
-Auslieferungszustand Klinge: SEHR scharf!
-Klingendesign sehr alltagstauglich
-geringe Größe
-grandios leicht! ca. 35g
Contra:
-Nicht §42a WaffG kompatibel!
Fazit:
