Serious Strength, Versatility, and ValueThe Magpul Bipod offers serious strength and versatility. Available with your choice of M-LOK, 1913 Picatinny Rail, Sling Stud QD or A.R.M.S. 17S Style mounting connections, the bipod can be mounted to your accessory system of choice. Rich with important features, our lightweight Mil-spec hard anodized 6061 T-6 aluminum and injection-molded polymer bipod brings innovation in ergonomics, functionality, strength and value together. An aesthetically pleasing, low-profile design conceals its mechanisms and hardware, smoothly brushing off snags and bumps. Optimized for rapid one-handed adjustments, the bipod quickly and quietly transitions between countless user configurations. |
Durable & LightweightThe Magpul Bipod is exceptionally strong and built to perform under punishing field conditions. Like all Magpul products, the Bipod is constructed of rugged, high-strength materials and designed to last a lifetime. In the shooting position, it is easily loaded with stabilizing forward tension without fear of failure or warping. Mil-spec hard anodized 6061 T-6 aluminum, stainless steel internals, and injection-molded reinforced polymer ensure years of dependable performance and reliability, all while shaving weight. At just over 11 oz., the Magpul Bipod is lighter than many pricier bipods currently on the market. |
Innovative, Adjustable, & Easy to UseDeploying and adjusting the Magpul Bipod is quick and easy. Spring-tensioned legs stow neatly forward and snap down and lock into place with one hand. Leg extensions slide and lock securely with the push of a button on any of the seven half-inch spaced locking detents. The legs extend a full four inches, from 6.3” to 10.3”. An industry-exclusive 50° of total tilt and 40° of total pan are controlled by a glove-friendly knurled tool-less bipod locking knob located between the extended legs, allowing easy adjustment between shots. Additionally, the Magpul Bipod has the exclusive ability to lock pan at 0° while maintaining full tilt functionality. |
Smooth & Unobtrusive
From the drawing board, the Magpul Bipod was designed to be barely noticed until needed. Folded, the streamlined housing and legs fit neatly under the barrel and are just under 2.3” deep and 3.3” wide. In addition, anodized surfaces and tight, precision tolerances mitigate squeaks and rattles.
Functional Feet
Even in the stowed position, the Magpul Bipod has many useful features. A soft rubber bipod locking knob cap is attached to the locking knob gives users a steady, non-marring forward rest while the bipod is folded. Additionally, its staggered soft rubber feet hold fast on a variety of shooting surfaces and are easily removed with a roll pin punch. Should users choose to change feet, the Magpul Bipod’s legs accept most Atlas pattern bipod replaceable feet, except for the Atlas 5-H style.

The good.
Its lightweight and 5-6oz on the end of your gun makes a difference, the legs deploy quickly and easily, the pan and tilt are adjusted on one large knurled nut, there is plenty of range of motion both pan and tilt, you can easily use the bipod legs panned to the side on walls/barricades, the legs adjust height easily, and the bipod takes a heavy forward load with no impression that you are straining it.
The not so good.
The legs are a little difficult to deploy in a smooth one handed operation, they open at an angle so you need to flatten out your hand and push and one of them likes to bind, I am sure practice will make it easier to do but its something I noticed. Folding the legs back up is also tricky using your left hand its super easy to fold the left leg but you have to contort your wrist to push the button on the right side to fold the leg. Again I am sure practice will make it easier but its something I noticed.
The pan and tilt are a single adjustment that is in a sort of inconvenient place if you are used to the Harris system with a lever add on this is certainly an adjustment you will have to make. Maybe someone will make a lever that can be added to nut for this bipod.
Also it seems no matter how tight you get that nut it won't lock out either adjustment and it seems to loosen once you start using it. So if you love the fact that you can set and lock your Harris that might be a deal breaker for you. Its not for me, with the nut very tight you can set the tilt and it will stay put, just not locked as solid as a Harris would be.
There is a slight rattle to the bipod the fit between the polymer outer shell of the bipod and the metal inner legs is a tiny bit loose and it does make a very small amount of noise. Its nothing major, its not loud but it is there.
Overall this bipod is good, it has good features, seems very well made, is strong, lightweight and durable. Its just not quite as good as a Harris for precision shooting since you cant easily lock the tilt/pan.
I would recommend it but just know the limitations of the product.
I have it installed on FX Wildcat MK3 BT. The legs pointing backwards when stowed so it fits better into my case.
Attachment was as dead-simple as with any M-LOK product and it definitely looks the part. I also appreciate the simple operation - the legs lock solidly into place and are easily adjusted for height. The only things holding this product back from a full five stars are the lack of a positive lock for the tilt and pan functions and the lightweight construction.
While the primary adjustment knob is easy to use and nicely textured for a good grip, it's impossible to finch it down enough to absolutely prevent a solid bump from either canting the rifle or pivoting the bipod - some form of positive lock would be nice. Additionally, the legs definitely flex a fair bit when extended. To be fair, they're being asked to support a 12-pound setup, so I may be pushing the limits of what is a fairly light simple bipod, but it's still worth mentioning.
It's still a quality piece and I would wholeheartedly recommend it for a lighter gun - I'll likely end up moving this to one of my ARs and find a sturdier (and likely significantly more expensive) solution for this rifle down the road.
I would still highly recommend this bipod, but not for all setups.
