Details Looking for some affordable 7.62 NATO ammunition to train with? Grab this 540 round M2A1 can of 7.62x51 mil spec ammo and enjoy plenty of trigger time with your AR-10, M-14, FAL, or other 7.62 or .308 Winchester rifle. These cartridges were manufactured in the 1980s by Syarikat Malaysia Explosive Ltd, a defense contractor now known as SME Ordnance. SME was established in 1969 and produces a variety of munitions and weapons for the Malaysian armed forces. Each cartridge in this 540 round can fires a 146-grain bi-metal full metal jacket bullet. This results in external ballistics very similar to those of M80 ball ammo and good medium range performance. This ammo comes packaged in sturdy 50 Cal metal ammo cans that can be reused for a variety of storage purposes and come with a convenient carry handle and secure latch. This ammo uses brass cases with intact annealing marks, as with all mil spec loads. The triple staked non-corrosive red-sealant Berdan primers provide very reliable ignition but require special equipment to remove from spent cases, so we don't recommend reusing the brass for reloading. In our field testing, this ammo produced an average grouping of 2.2" at 100 yards from an 18" barrel (for reference, FGMM is usually around 1" in that gun and CBC M80 is 2.5-3ish). We also saw pretty consistent velocity (not more than a 50 FPS swing in a 10 round group) with an average FPS of 2,682. Pretty solid performing rounds!
