Blazer Aluminum is one of the only brands of ammo available with a lightweight aircraft grade aluminum case, and has been in production since 1980. We used Blazer Aluminum 165 grain in 40 Smith & Wesson for this review. It has a copper jacketed bullet with a lead core and a non-corrosive primer. The aluminum casings make the ammo a little lighter than brass or steel, but the function is just the same as most other ammo. I've actually had better luck with Blazer Aluminum than some guns that don't feed steel cases very well most of the time, and none of the test guns we used this for review had any problems with reliability or feeding. Our 15-yard bench rest group showed Blazer to be reasonably accurate, as well. If you don't reload, but want to practice with dependable, American-made ammo, then Blazer Aluminum is a good choice.
